Virtually Eliminates Efflorescence
Efflorescence is a common and significant problem for concrete applications where appearance is important such as wall slabs, blocks, pavers and other architectural elements. Use of Mesatech Cement generates a low permeability product which results in excellent efflorescence control. The extreme fineness and enhanced cementicious properties of the patented Mesatech Cement blend result in excellent paste development and void elimination within the mix. Mesatech Cement is compatible with super-plasticizers and other VMA’s or HRWRA, and can be used with self-consolidating cement (SCC) mix designs.
“Greener” Cement
Manufacturing portland cement is a costly, labor intensive process that entails roughly 80 separate operations, an assortment of heavy machinery and an enormous amount of heat and energy. But many of the environmentally costly functions associated with producing portland cement do not pertain to the production of Mesatech Cement. While it is manufactured to tight, closely monitored specifications, Mesatech Cement’s overall environmental impacts are lower than those for portland cement. The massive combustion of fossil fuel required for the high-temperature calcinations of limestone releases about one ton of CO2 into the atmosphere for the production of one ton of portland cement clinker.
